ARCH recommends local tenant protections amidst steep rent increases

On April 14, 2022 the ARCH Executive Board approved a resolution recommending that member jurisdictions consider adopting local tenant protections, building on models established by the City of Kenmore and King County. The action comes amidst steep increases in rents across the region, exacerbated by high inflation and the exhaustion of rental assistance resources from the pandemic. The recommended policies would give tenants greater notice of significant rent increases, and cap move-in and late fees. Read the full resolution here.
