ARCH Affordable Housing Tour

On September 30, ARCH welcomed more than 30 participants - including elected officials, planning commissioners, and jurisdictional staff from across East King County - for an engaging tour highlighting a wide range of affordable housing solutions in the region.

The tour began in Redmond with two inclusionary zoning examples: Eastline, showcasing affordable rental homes, and Willows 124, which demonstrates how inclusionary zoning also supports affordable homeownership. Participants then visited Kirkland’s Parkshore Juanita Bay, which contains affordable housing for seniors as a result of inclusionary zoning. The tour then visited Kirkland Heights, a notable King County Housing Authority project.

In Bellevue, the group toured Plymouth Crossing, a powerful model of Permanent Supportive Housing. The final stop in Bellevue, Forest Edge, highlighted how faith‑owned land can play a vital role in expanding affordable housing options. Representatives from each development shared insights, creating what one participant described as a “just right” level of exposure to different housing types.

For those unable to join the midday, midweek tour, ARCH is also offering a smaller weekend version. Overall, the tour served as a meaningful educational and engagement opportunity for partners across East King County.
